Brian's "why" TO MENTOR RUNNERS

A runner's journey is enriched when shared.

Spouse, friend, relative, teammate.

A runner's progress is enhanced when mentored.

Motivation, training, education, support.

My "Why" is to guide each runner along their path,

toward a healthy, lifelong future of running adventures and memories.

I am a passionate and dedicated runner who loves to set goals. For a few years I trained to see how close I could get to 20 minutes for the 5K. On a perfect morning in October of 2021 I surpassed my goal and felt the joy of accomplishment. I want to help runners obtain the same joy I experienced.

Mixing things up is a good way to stay motivated and healthy. Mentoring is providing options that a runner may not have considered. After gaining the speed I needed it was time to dig back in and go for that marathon goal of 3:30. Not there yet, but I am now more confident in my goal.

Some seasons present an opportunity that offers a new adventure. 2023 is the year of the long run. A kind of recovery year of running in regard to speed, and yet not a recovery year in terms of mileage. It's all about the balance.
